Position Summary Father Bill's & MainSpring (FEMS) seeks a dynamic and mission-driven Director of Volunteer Services to strengthen and expand our volunteer and in-kind donation programs. This role will ensure meaningful engagement opportunities aligned with FEMS's mission and operational needs. Reporting to the Senior Director of Development, the Director will collaborate across departments to create a cohesive, strategic volunteer program and manage in-kind donations. Key Responsibilities Build a Culture of Community Engagement Foster a strong, organization-wide culture of volunteerism through meetings, shared responsibilities, and internal education. Partner with program leadership to identify meaningful volunteer roles supporting goals and outcomes. Develop systems and communication strategies to encourage effective volunteer engagement across departments. Create a welcoming and inclusive volunteer experience emphasizing dignity, respect, and impact. Improve Coordination & Support Create accessible pathways to volunteerism via recruitment, application, onboarding, and ongoing support. Develop processes and best practices for managing volunteers. Provide training, resources, and guidance to staff working with volunteers. Enhance the Volunteer Experience Establish onboarding, orientation, and role-specific training. Create recognition initiatives and events. Implement feedback systems to improve volunteer experiences. Proactive Volunteer Marketing Lead outreach to promote volunteer opportunities. Collaborate with Marketing & Communications to increase visibility. Standardize and Streamline Operations Develop guidelines for volunteer roles. Maintain accurate records of volunteer activity. Align opportunities with FBMS's goals and needs. Oversee In-Kind Donations & Needs Manage processes for receiving and tracking donations. Collaborate internally to identify needs. Create recognition opportunities for donors. Qualifications Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in relevant fields. 5+ years in volunteer management or nonprofit operations. Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills. Experience developing training and marketing materials preferred. Proficiency with volunteer management systems, CRM, and MS Office. Passion for ending homelessness. Work Environment Some evening/weekend work may be required. Reliable transportation and occasional travel between sites. Eligible for hybrid work arrangements. Skills & Competencies Empathy, professionalism, communication skills, record-keeping, job knowledge, reliability, initiative, policy adherence, interpersonal skills. Other Promote safety and security. Local travel with valid driver's license. Physical demands include sitting, standing, lifting up to 25 pounds.
