Rank: Open Specializations: A broad range of fields in Economics, Finance, Economic History, American Politics, International Relations, American History, World History, Military History, Legal History, and Constitutional Studies. We are especially interested in scholars and teachers interested in empiricism, constitutionalism, and applied history. Teaching: Six class hours per week during term-time, or the equivalent of 2/2 in the American semester system. Salary: Highly competitive. The Center for Economics, Politics & History directly supports the core mission of UATX to advance the fearless pursuit of truth by building and sustaining a community based on the lively clash of ideas in an atmosphere of open inquiry and civil discourse. The Center is interdisciplinary by design, offering a core curriculum in economics, history, law, and political science. The Center aims to develop strengths in empiricism (from multiple perspectives encompassing historical, qualitative, and quantitative evidence), constitutionalism, and applied history. Treasuring both the wisdom of the past and the transformative potential of novel ideas, we seek to preserve and transmit humanity’s rich intellectual, scientific, artistic, and cultural inheritance while vigorously pursuing the discovery, creation, and communication of new knowledge. Like all faculty at UATX, faculty in CEPH will be expected to maintain the highest standards of pedagogical excellence, to be available in person and in office on the days they teach, to attend weekly common lectures and other academic events outside the classroom, to advise students academically, and to supervise them as they work on their individual Polaris projects (in which students build, create, or discover something that serves the human good).
