Hoppers Hotel Cancel For Any Reason (CFAR) team is responsible for integrating our proprietary fintech offerings with major travel companies and direct-to-consumer services.

About The Job

As part of this team, you'll work on systems that scale globally, evolve current offerings, and deliver value to customers and Hopper. We seek a Senior Backend Developer to impact our critical roadmaps by designing, implementing, deploying, and operating complex backend systems.

What Would Your Day-to-day Look Like

• Iterate on features using Scala, GCP, OpenAPI, BigQuery, Pub/Sub, and more.
• Design core systems within a microservices architecture.
• Ship code rapidly and iteratively.
• Collaborate across diverse teams and give/receive feedback.
• Execute on significant opportunities to elevate Hopper in the travel industry.

An Ideal Candidate Has

• Experience with leading industry techniques and technologies.
• Strong understanding of distributed systems and architecture impacts.
• Proven ability to work in cross-functional teams.
• Focus on quality, testable, scalable code.
• Proactivity, independence, and adaptability in evolving environments.
• Cloud experience, Scala proficiency, and travel or eCommerce background.
• Interest in front-end contributions, especially React, is a plus.
