About the Role: We’re looking for a wildly creative Slime Designer to join our team and craft the most mesmerizing, playful, and trend-setting slime products on the market for both children and adults. From glittery galaxy goo to buttery pastel putty, you’ll be the mastermind behind our sensory creations. Your job will be to take into account different textures, scents, colors, accessories, and satisfying squishiness to create and develop slime products, collaborating with engineers and manufacturers to ensure successful production.

Responsibilities:

Conceptualization and Design:

  • Design and develop innovative slime recipes with unique textures, scents, and visual appeal.

Prototyping:

  • Conduct quality testing to ensure safety, functionality, aesthetics, playability and shelf life.
  • Source and test pigments, glitters, charms, and other mix-ins.
  • Document formulas and production processes for scalability.

Collaboration:

  • Work with engineers, manufacturers, and other stakeholders to learn the manufacturing process and materials, ensuring designs are feasible, safe, and cost-effective.
  • Work in partnership with marketing and content teams to align slime designs with seasonal trends and viral aesthetics.
  • Occasionally appear in or assist with social media content showcasing slime creations.

Material Expertise:

  • Experiment with ingredients to create new slime types (e.g., cloud, butter, crunchy, jelly, magnetic).

Innovation:

  • Continuously seek opportunities to innovate and improve product designs. Experiment with ingredients to create new slime types (e.g., cloud, butter, crunchy, jelly, magnetic).
  • Stay up-to-date with slime and other relevant trends on TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube.

Qualifications:

Education:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Art, Industrial Design, Product Design, or a related field is ideal, though experience can also be a factor.

Required Skills:

Design Skills:

  • Strong understanding of textures, colors, and visual design.

Technical Skills:

  • Understanding of or willingness to learn manufacturing processes, materials, and safety regulations.
  • Comfortable working in a lab/kitchen-like environment.

Communication and Collaboration:

  • Ability to work independently and creatively, effectively communicating design ideas and collaborating with cross-functional teams to produce and market slime designs.

Problem-Solving:

  • Ability to help identify and resolve design and production challenges.

Passion for Play:

  • Passion for slime and sensory play products.
  • Experience with crafting, DIY projects, or cosmetic formulation is a plus.
