About the Role
The Company is seeking an Executive Director to lead its global professional membership organization, which is dedicated to promoting the health, welfare, and rights of people living with HIV. The successful candidate will be at the forefront of a human-rights-centered HIV agenda, responsible for advocacy, education, and policy development. This role involves ensuring the active participation of the organization's members in national and international policy forums, as well as overseeing the development of programs that advance nursing education in the context of HIV/AIDS treatment, prevention, and research. The Executive Director will also lead fundraising efforts, manage a significant annual operating budget, and provide strategic leadership to meet the organization's mission and long-term goals. Applicants for the Executive Director position at the company should have a minimum of 7-10 years' progressive leadership experience in nursing, public health, or nonprofit management, with an advanced degree in a related field. The ideal candidate will have a strong awareness of current issues in nursing, HIV care, and public health, and a proven track record in securing grants and managing nonprofit finances. Experience in working with a nonprofit Board of Directors, developing a strong team culture, and a background in legislative/policy advocacy, particularly in the context of HIV or healthcare, is highly valued. The role requires a critical thinker with exceptional interpersonal, communication, and relationship-building skills, who is committed to diversity, inclusion, and social justice. The Executive Director will be expected to travel frequently and must be adept at managing multiple priorities and meeting deadlines.
